Our story

Born of the island's volcano

Santorini is the rim of a great volcano, and its slopes are made of pumice — the light, frothy stone that erupts from the volcano's heart. For generations, people have used a piece of this pumice to smooth and soften the hard skin of the feet. It is light, naturally abrasive and honest stone. Nisos gathers pumice from Santorini and shapes it into comfortable stones for the feet, so the island's oldest, simplest beauty tool comes home with you.

How it's made

The pumice is gathered from Santorini's volcanic slopes and shaped by hand into smooth, comfortable stones. Each is naturally abrasive yet light, and needs nothing added — the volcanic stone is the whole tool.

How to use it

Soften the feet in warm water, then rub the damp stone gently over the hard skin with a circular motion. Rinse both the stone and your feet. Use once or twice a week and rinse the stone to keep it clean.

Good to know

How long does one last?

A pumice stone lasts a long time — months of use before the surface wears smooth. When it does, a fresh stone is the simple replacement.

How do I clean it?

Rinse the stone with water after each use and let it dry. It needs no soap and no special care — the volcanic stone looks after itself.

Is it suitable for sensitive feet?

Use it gently and only on damp, softened skin — a light pressure is all that is needed. If it feels too rough for you, use it less often and more lightly.

Why Santorini pumice?

Santorini is the rim of a great volcano, and its slopes are made of the island's own pumice. It is the stone of the caldera, gathered there and shaped by hand.

What is pumice?

Pumice is a light, frothy volcanic stone — so light it floats in water. It is naturally abrasive, which is why it has been used for generations to smooth hard skin on the feet.
